Accommodation
Spend the night on the Kuninkaansaari island, while enjoying the nature, history and proximity of the sea!
Go to:
Built around 1930, the tower transformer rises to a height of eight meters on a rocky shore of the Sand Cove on Kuninkaansaari island. The terrace offers a magnificent view of the sea and the surrounding nature.
The building was removed from its original use in 1990 and renovated for light accommodation use between 2019 and 2020.
The Transformer is located at the Sand Cove of Kuninkaansaari island, where guests have their own beach, swimming pier and a rowboat. The walk from Vallisaari, where the Torpedo Bay's guest harbour and the nearest pier for water bus traffic are located, takes about 20 minutes. Kuninkaansaari island's services cannot be reached directly by boat. You must walk to the island from Vallisaari along the embankment between islands. The transformer has sleeping places for a total of four people.
The Kuninkaansaari Island's wood heated sauna is located nearby and for extra charge, guests can book a sauna at the same time. A rowboat and two SUP boards are also available to guests, free of charge.
Transformer accommodation is available during the summer season from the beginning of May to the end of September.
Things to do and see
Both islands have a wide variety of activities, history and nature to explore. For example, you can play yard games, explore perhaps the shortest nature trail in Helsinki, take a trip around the islands on the row boat or try solving the Mystery of Kuninkaansaari Island.
When you are hungry, you can enjoy a picnic in the open air or visit Vallisaari and try their facilities and services.
